JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER / GAS FITTER

FULL-TIME, APPRENTICESHIP

K.B. Mechanical Ltd. is looking for Journeyman Plumber/Class B Gas fitters available to start immediately. This position is permanent full time and offers competitive wages as well as benefits after the first three months.

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Journeyman will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repairs associated with plumbing, heating, gas lines and equipment. He or she will work using safe work practices, always being aware of personal and client safety.
Qualified candidates must possess their own basic tools and a minimum of 2 year’s commercial and residential experience. Company vehicle and uniforms will be provided.

 

Qualifications:

  • ​ 2-3 years’ experience in the industry as a plumber
  • ​ Journeyman Plumber status with gas fitting ticket
  • ​ Ability to work independently without supervision
  • ​ Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specs
  • ​ Makes recommendations on required tools and correct equipment needed for all projects.
  • ​ Provide quote estimates for future projects
  • ​ Plan, install and service plumbing systems fixtures, piping equipment and controls
  • ​ Ability to work in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation and policies are correct
  • ​ Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • ​ Ability to lift 50lbs
  • ​ Driver’s License with no restrictions
  • ​ WHMIS 2015
  • ​ Fall Protection
  • ​ Aerial Work Platforms

SHEET METAL WORKER

FULL-TIME, APPRENTICESHIP

K.B. Mechanical Ltd. is looking for Journeyman Sheet Metal workers available to start immediately. This position is permanent full time and offers competitive wages as well as benefits after the first three months.


We are currently looking for self-motivated team players that are technically strong, reliable, detail oriented, with strong communication skills and that have a drive towards excellence.

 

Qualifications needed:

  • ​ Post-secondary education in Sheet Metal (level one minimum for Apprentice)
  • ​ Preference given to candidates with at least 2 years of commercial experience
  • ​ Valid BC driver’s licence and own transportation
  • ​ Excellent communication skills and strong work ethics including strong mechanical aptitude
  • ​ Team work oriented with self-starter passion and ability to act independently in a tactful manner at all levels
  • ​ Strong problem-solving skills
  • ​ Tower and/or high-rise experience preferred

 

Responsibilities:

  • ​ Read engineering and architectural drawings and work specifications.
  • ​ Lay out, measure, and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.
  • ​ Operate light metal working machines.
  • ​ Install and use rigging and hoisting equipment.
  • ​ Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering, and similar fabrication equipment.

 

Valid safety/training certificates:

  • ​ WHMIS 2015
  • ​ Workplace Fall Protection
  • ​ Aerial Work Platform
